Living Around a Patio
Villa Serena reinterprets the concept of a courtyard house on a plot fully immersed in nature.
The only natural clearing—a central esplanade—becomes the heart of the project. Around this void, the entire house is arranged, not only circling it, but also opening to light, landscape, and shared life.
To fully integrate the home into the plot, the volumes are separated and rotated, following the natural slope. This move also ensures optimal orientation for each room.
As the volumes unfold, inner courtyards emerge, preserving existing trees and weaving them into the architecture.
The house can be fully walked around, making it possible to enjoy the entire plot without limits. The main volume is placed on the north side, turning its back to the road and providing privacy for the interior spaces.
To the south, everything opens up: the central patio, the living areas, and the views. A family home that transforms a complex terrain into a fluid, protected, and sunlit dwelling.
